"90 percent of PS2 users were waiting for 2 things..."
burden of proof is on you.
he named the other big IPs 360 has coming.
I took out the games that aren't 08 because M$ didn't announce it's 09 lineup yet.
Resistance 2 - first one was ok. this one promises to be decent.
Haze - I haven't heard anything exceptional about this game.
Killzone 2 - Would have been good a year ago, will probably get overshadowed by other titles, which now look better.
Little Big Planet - not my style, but ok.
HOME - not a game.
Metal Gear ...
Nintendo outsold 360 in the month SSBB came out. that's not exactly unexpected.
false. The console war is about building a dedicated fanbase for the next gen, and making money.
The wii right now has a rediculous number of consoles being sold, but few of those sales will carry over to their next console, and they aren't seeing much income from software. If they weren't making a profit off the console itself they'd be pretty bad off. Luckily they make money off the console.
Try cramming all that fun into 17 minutes.
It was probably orgasmic.
"Blu-Ray
- more space
- better transfer rates
- scratch resistant
- long lasting "
blu-ray has more space. The transfer rates aren't really better. Scratch resistance could have the same thing done to HD-DVD. Scratch resistance was originally a problem with Blu-Rays, and actually had to be put in because the original resistance was so poor. Long lasting has no grounds in anything other than scratch resistance, which I've covered.
How...
It's the difference being small enough to not warrant the extra money spent to upgrade.
The difference just isn't worth the high price tag right now.
Because sony pumped MANY MANY MANY times more money into blu-ray than anybody spent on HD-DVD.
HD-DVD was better for the consumer, better for the manufacturers, and better for the industry. If sony didn't pay out of pocket to make up for manufacturers and the entertainment industry losses, it would have probably lost in the long term. It definately wouldn't have won by now, and that much is certain.
Movies still look fine on DVD format. It looks even better on an upscaling player. The biggest benefit from blu-ray is the extra space for added features and connectivity, and 7.1 audio. The picture won't be that great a benefit to most people. If I had the money to buy a 7.1 system, I might consider buying a blu-ray player.
I'm suprised sony/nint/M$ haven't established any market analysis things for euro/not-not-japan asia.
It seems like it would be well worth the money for the benefit they get out of all that extra market data. Not to mention all the extra buzz it would generate.
You made the same prediction VGchartz just did? wow... Can't wait for real sales numbers to see how close you both are...
I think shortages on the PS3 version of the game might throw off vgchartz numbers there quite a bit.
Microsoft published asheron's call, which was a decently popular MMO (at least for pre-WoW standards) to pretty good success. I enjoyed playing it for a few years.
What would be a great idea for M$ would be to lower the price of MMOs for people who already have an XBL gold account. That would definately push me over the edge on playing a few of the MMOs for 360.
From what they've said about them, it sounds like they'll be mission strings unrelated to the main storyline.
One of the comments had to do with a stranger coming up to you and asking you to do a small job for him then dealing with the after effects. This leads me to believe that it would be something like (using the example they used) going to kill a guys cheating wife and her lover, then finding out her lover was the son of some mob boss then having to deal with the mob boss fo...
Saying anything trying to get people not to disagree with you is the best way to get disagrees.
PS: I disagreed with you and only read the title.
but they do know more than your average Best Buy, Walmart, and Target employees. If you don't really care what your salesperson knows (probably most people on this site) then it doesn't matter.
On preorders, they do establish how much of the company's stock each store gets. It would be stupid for a company to send a store with 0 preorders 200 copies of a game when another store has 500 pre-orders (guaranteed sales).
someone earlier already explained it for you. Preor...
It probably has to do with after effects used to mimic AA and deal with upscaling. Honestly, the color difference is minimal at best. The texture popping is what will have the biggest effect, but it's still bearable.
The differences are minimal AT BEST, so much so that which looks better will end up coming down to a lot of opinion. When I look at the pictures, I see a lot of things that look nicer on the 360 version, and a couple things that look nicer on the PS3 version too. <...
No, you're wrong. More preorders means that the gamestop warehouses send them more of gamestop's stock depending on how much each other store gets. Some people get bumped to second or third shipment because the warehouse doesn't magically get an infinite supply of the game. Gamestop stores get more games when the warehouse gets more games. The warehouse gets more games when the publishers send them more games.
Don't be stupid. If you want a game day one, preorder. If you really l...
The second they outright said the 360 was losing bad is the spot I knew they didn't know anything about the console market.
The 360 is only losing in hardware. It still dominates in every other aspect. Most importantly, money spent on the console. The bulk of money is made of software, not hardware. They aren't definitely losing anything right now. The majority of people that spend money on games own a 360 right now, that's not an outright loss. It's a difference in strategy. <...
there are not that many PS3s in existence.
